Jesus is Alive!

 

Heart-to-Heart is an outreach program designed to help overcome grief and depression.  Group therapy and individual sessions are available to help people cope through these heart-breaking times

On the first Saturday of the month, a luncheon is served to local Senior Citizens.  Fellowship and good food are enjoyed by all who attend.  Occasionally, the group is entertained by local pianists or the Pittsfield Community Church’s Youth Handbell Choir.

MISSION PROJECTS

Each month a different mission project is chosen by the Worship and Ministry Committee.  Monies and/or goods are collected and forwarded to the chosen project.  Some mission projects are an annual tradition at Pittsfield Church while others reflect specific unforeseen needs in our community.  In the past, we have raised money and/or collected goods for the following:

Blessing House

Buckner Shoes for Orphans

  • An international organization focused on providing basic necessities in the name of Christ, including the annual blanket collection

Cornerstone International - (800) 859-4578

  • A missions organization introduced to us by relatives of Lora Sheffield:  Mike and Peggy Yost (two of Cornerstone’s missionaries in Honduras)

Cornerstone Pregnancy Services

  • Women helping women with pregnancy
  • Faith-based and life affirming, providing education, support and healing to over 1,000 women each year

Detention Home Pastors

  • One of our missions through the Christian outreach group Lorain County Church Women United (Chaplaincy Fund)

  • Services include and area domestic violence outreach program

Great Commission Ministries (GCM)

  • A movement to create church communities that reach the emerging generation with the message of Jesus Christ
  • A university organization and church designed for college students on the campus of Bowling Green State University and in the city of Bowling Green
  • Members of h2o staff team - Chad and Eva Frank (grand-daughter of Phyllis Schindler / daughter of Tari Diedrick)

Parish Nurse

  • As part of an ongoing effort to serve the community's total health care needs, Community Health Partners established a unique Health Ministry Program in 1993.
  • The program is wholistic in nature, utilizing the resources of the church, the health network and the community to nurture the needs of the body, mind and spirit, all of which affect overall health.

Salvation Army

  • Local chapter helping the disadvantaged in our area
  • We collect gloves, hats and scarves annually at Christmas time on our “Mitten Tree”

Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH)

  • The primary mission of VOSH is to facilitate the provision of vision care worldwide where it is not affordable or obtainable
  • Used eyeglasses collected through the Lions Club and distributed worldwide to those in need

Well-Help, Inc.

  • Provides emergency food, clothing, and medication assistance for residents of Wellington, Camden, Brighton, Penfield, Huntington and Rochester Townships.
